The Icelandic Met Office has issued a strong gale warning (wind speeds of 15-25 m/sec) for Southeast Iceland today and for North Iceland by evening. Tonight, winds will be blowing from the east at 15-23 m/sec, windiest in the northern headlands and in the West Fjornds, along with increased precipitation. Temperatures will range between 0° and 10°C (32°-50°F), mildest in the southwest. Heavy rain will continue in East Iceland tomorrow.

The Icelandic Road Administration warns of heavy snowfall on mountain roads in East Iceland this afternoon and limited visibility.
