Dear travelers, Please be aware that a weather warning has been issued in parts of Iceland. Conditions can change…
Largest Earthquake in 6 Months Hits Reykjanes Ridge
A significant seismic swarm hit the Reykjanes Ridge today, peaking with a 4.1 magnitude earthquake felt across Southwest Iceland. While this is the largest tremor in the area in six months, it remains part of the ongoing “new era” of volcanic and tectonic activity on the peninsula. Read our full guide on where the activity is located, the history of recent eruptions like Fagradalsfjall, and the essential safety apps every camper traveler needs to stay informed.
đïž The Highland Countdown: F-Road Opening Forecast 2026
When does the interior open? Nature, not man, decides the dates for the Icelandic Highlands. As of late March, we are monitoring snow melt and soil moisture to predict the 2026 opening of routes like Askja (F88) and Landmannalaugar (F208).
đ© WEATHER ALERT: Yellow Warnings â Storm & Blizzard Conditions (March 23, 2026)
A deep low-pressure system is moving across Iceland today, bringing storm-force winds and blizzard conditions. For the safety of our customers in Freyja, Frigg, Sif, and our 4×4 fleet, we recommend checking road conditions immediately and considering a “Stay-In” day if you are in high-impact zones.
The Diamond Circle & Highland Edge
Go beyond the pavement. This 1,650 km expedition is designed for the high-clearance Thor 4×4. Tackle the deep volcanic sands of the North and reach the “Edge of the World” at the Ăsbyrgi Canyon, crossing glacial rivers that stop standard campers in their tracks.
The Ultimate Askja Expedition
The ultimate “Bucket List” achievement. Reach the steaming VĂti crater at Askja, deep in the uninhabited center of Iceland. This 1,800 km journey requires the luxury and power of the Tyr. It is a mission across lava deserts and through glacial rivers to reach the most remote caldera on Earth.
The “Essential” All-In Circle (14 Days)
If you only visit Iceland once, this is your route. Perfect for first-time explorers, this meticulously calculated 2,800 km loop combines the classic Ring Road with the magical SnĂŠfellsnes Peninsula and the Northâs hidden coastal gems. Itâs the definitive “Honest Route”âoptimized for ease of driving so you spend more time at the icons than behind the wheel.
The Ultimate Grand Tour (21-Day Slow Travel)
The ultimate luxury isn’t a fast car; itâs the gift of time. This 3,500 km epic journey covers every corner of Icelandâfrom the thundering South to the silent Westfjordsâat a relaxed pace of just 165 km per day. Designed specifically for our premium motorhomes, this is the “Honest Route” for those who want to see it all without the rush
The Highland Heart
This is the ultimate test of man and machine. Leave the Ring Road behind and plunge into the uninhabited interior of Iceland. From the colorful rhyolite mountains of Landmannalaugar to the steaming calderas of Askja, this 2,400 km journey across gravel and rivers is for the 4×4 purist.
