  • Snow/sleet expected above 200-300 m. in the north (from Varmahlíð to Reyðarfjörður). Drivers in the area should be aware as most cars are not equipped for icy roads right now.
  • Wind gusts from Skaftafell to Djúpivogur may reach up to 40 m/s (144 km/h or 90 mph) so larger vehicles that are vulnerable to the wind should plan their travels accordingly.
  • Gustly conditions also expected from Seljalandsfoss to Skógafoss.
  • Highland Roads in Winter Conditions: The highlands have entered winter conditions and many of the roads are now CLOSED. Check on road.is to see if the closures will affect your travel plan.
