Safety Alert: Severe Weather Across Iceland – Yellow Warnings Issued

A deep low-pressure system is moving across Iceland today, bringing storm-force winds and blizzard conditions. For the safety of our customers in Freyja, Frigg, Sif, and our 4x4 fleet, we recommend checking road conditions immediately and considering a "Stay-In" day if you are in high-impact zones.

🚐 Advice for Camper Iceland Drivers

If you are currently on the road:

  1. Monitor the Wind: Our high-profile motorhomes (Freyja, Frigg, Sif, Hel) are sensitive to side winds. If gusts exceed 20 m/s, do not drive. Find a sheltered spot or a campsite and stay put.
  2. Reykjanesbraut (Airport Road): Visibility is expected to be very poor after noon. Allow extra time if you are returning your vehicle today.
  3. Check Live Maps: Use vedur.is and road.is before starting your engine.
  4. Heating Systems: All our campers are equipped with powerful heating. Ensure you have enough fuel/gas to stay warm if you need to wait out the storm.

Safety First: In Iceland, the weather always wins. It is better to arrive a day late than not at all.
