Picking Up and Returning Your LOKI E
Your LOKI E will be ready for you at our rental station, Camper Iceland. The camper will have a battery charge of at least 70% upon pickup. To help us maintain our service, please return the vehicle with a charge of 70% or more. A fee of 25,000 ISK will be charged for campers returned with a lower charge.
Understanding Your Driving Range
The LOKI E is equipped with a battery that provides a driving range of 280 km or more under ideal conditions. However, the actual range can be influenced by various factors, including road conditions, weather, and the weight of your luggage. Be sure to plan your route accordingly.
Charging Your LOKI E
Every LOKI E comes with a ‘Type 2’ charging cable, which is compatible with most charging stations in Iceland. If the cable is lost or damaged, a fee will be applied. To make charging easy, a QR code inside your camper will direct you to a map of recommended charging stations from providers like N1, ON, and Isorka. Charging times can vary, see picture:
Important Note on F-Roads
For your safety and the longevity of the vehicle, please be aware that the LOKI E electric camper is not permitted on F-roads in Iceland.

Hello everyone,
As the owner of Camper Iceland, I’ve taken countless trips around Iceland in all kinds of vehicles. But the adventure I recently had with our brand-new Loki E completely blew me away. I’ll be honest: as someone who knew very little about electric vehicles (EVs), I made the biggest mistake at the start—I drove it like a regular car.
I thought you drive until the battery is nearly empty, then look for a charging station. That was wrong, as our EV experts quickly explained. They showed me the real secret that makes traveling with the Loki E so revolutionary: you just charge it whenever you stop anyway.
You pick up the camper, drive into the city, explore Reykjavík, and plug the camper into one of the many charging stations while you’re there. While you enjoy dinner at a cozy restaurant, the vehicle continues to charge. And at night, at the campsite, you connect it to use the heater and maybe charge it a little more for the next day.
This approach completely changed how I saw the trip. It forces you, in the best possible way, to slow down—perfectly aligned with our Slow Travel concept. You’re not frantically searching for the next gas station; you’re naturally building charging stops into your daily routine. The result? More time to enjoy the surroundings, feel the silence of the vehicle, and experience the small moments that make a trip unforgettable.
